About the Scholarship
Scurry & Associates proudly sponsors the William A. Scurry Memorial Scholarship annually, awarding financial assistance to two local students committed to furthering their academic pursuits. This scholarship honors the life and enduring legacy of William A. Scurry, who passed away on September 2, 2017. As a leading Realtor® and community pillar for over 35 years, William devoted his career to mentoring others and actively contributing to his community, earning the nickname “Mayor of University City.”
William’s Legacy
William’s life was marked by his dedication to his family, his faith, and his community. His service included roles such as the Charlotte Regional Realtors Association board member, Chairman of the University YMCA Board, recipient of the YMCA’s “George Williams Award,” and board member for the local Alzheimer’s Association and the Charlotte Housing Authority. His influence continues to resonate through Scurry and Associates’ ongoing impact in the Greater Charlotte real estate market.
